Kate loves fire engines and loves to constantly ask us "What does a fire engine do?" at which time she lifts her hand in the air and says "WOO WOOooo" It's too cute. She has a couple of board books with pictures of fire engines, fire trucks and ambulances that we have to read daily, so it's a big treat when we see one for real. Kate's Nana came to stay with us for a few days and while she was here we decided to take a trip down to Big D and visit Daddy at the fire station. As soon as we got there Kate marched her little self right out to the bay and walked straight to the engine and told her daddy "I want to drive THAT one!" (No one's ever accused her of being shy, that's for sure...she knows what she wants when she wants it.) So daddy lifted her up, sat her in the driver's seat, made a few adjustments and she grabbed the steering wheel like she knew what she was doing and pretended to drive. She crawled all over the engine, sat in every seat, touched every button and once she was satisfied she was "all done" and got out. Then she spotted the Ambulance and gave one a once over too! The cherry on top was that as soon as we got buckled in the car to head home, the station bells went off and both the ambulance and engine got called out on a run so bk got to see the big doors open and both of them drive out with lights and sirens! Woo Woo for REAL ;-) Here are a few pictures from our adventure.
